Drinking Buddies

This image is related to "The Sushi Chef". I actually had sketched out the scene for the sushi chef with these two guys in the background. As I got started on the full image I began to get a little overwhelmed with all the layers and detail work which was apparently going to be required, so I decided to take a slight detour and do a full illustration of the background scene first from a different angle. One I completed this piece, I was happy to move on. I really got a good idea about how to handle background elements, lighting, and layer management in this image.
